Cosmocil CQ is a gentle preservative that is both paraben-free and formaldehyde-free.  It is often used in contact lens solutions and baby wipes, but may also be useful in skin care formulation as well as hair care and personal care products.  Cosmoci CQ is active against bacteria, but less active against mold and fungus.  It may be helpful to use in conjunction with another preservative, like Potassium Sorbate, for a broader spectrum of antimicrobial activity.
